Overview

Personal, Social and Health and citizenship education (PSHCE)   is a subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work.

Both key stage 3 and 4 learn about:

  • Relationships and friendships,
  • Health and wellbeing,
  • keeping themselves safe and where to get help and support
  • First aid and CPR
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Sex and relationships (SRE)
  • Self esteem

We have mindfulness sessions and learning skills to help themselves keep calm, learn breathing techniques and to help with anxiety.

We have an anti-bullying team made up of a voted member of each tutor group, we regularly meet and share ideas linking with the school council.

Key stage 4

All complete AQA unit awards which build up the pupils own portfolio of work and are assessed by the class teacher.

In Key Stage 4 there is the option to have additional lessons, curriculum for life where pupils continue building their portfolio with AQA.
